Sixty Irigueños received their wages today, May 22, 2025, through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program during a payout held at the 2nd Floor of the ICT Building, Iriga City.

This initiative was made possible through the partnership between the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office V (DOLE ROV) and the City Government of Iriga, through its Public Employment Services Office (PESO) headed by PESO Manager Engr. Cynthia D. Audal.

Joining and supporting the activity were DOLE Regional Director Imelda F. Gatinao, DOLE Camarines Sur Provincial Head Ma. Ella E. Verano, TUPAD focal person Ms. Cherry J. Brusola, and DOLE staff Sir Kim Villafuerte and Ma’am Stephanie Secorata, who led the payout proceedings.

The 60 beneficiaries came from four barangays in Iriga City—Del Rosario, Sta. Elena, Sta. Maria, and Francia—and each rendered 20 days of work focused on communal vegetable gardening. This project not only provided temporary employment but also supported efforts toward sustainability and food security at the grassroots level.

Each beneficiary earned ₱395 per day, amounting to ₱7,900 for their 20-day community service.

Programs like TUPAD help strengthen community resilience by providing meaningful work to displaced and disadvantaged workers while promoting productivity and self-sufficiency across local communities.
