Davao City:  Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte has urged relatives, families, and housemates of the persons tested positive of the coronavirus to refrain from going out of their residences to avoid infecting other people in their neighborhood.

“Kung kinahanglan mo ug tabang, pagsulti dayon mo sa amoa. Pwede mo magtext sa OPCEN nga ‘dili mi kagawas, pwede ba mi ninyo hatdan ug konsumo’ because we can do that. The government can do that for you so dili na mo kinahanglan maghuna-huna kung asa mo magkuha ug pagkaon kung dili mo makagawas sa inyohang balay (If you need help, please tell us immediately. You can text the Operations Center to send you supplies because we can do that. The government can do that for you so you don’t have to think about where you can get food if you cannot go out of the house),” Mayor Sara during her regular talk with the Dabawenyos over Davao City Disaster Radio on Wednesday.

Mayor Sara strongly advised them to think of the welfare of others so that the virus will no longer spread.

“Kahibalo naman mo nga naay nag positive sa inyohang balay. So maghangyo mi sa inyoha—ayaw na mo ug gawas. Kay posible pud nga after 14 days, kamo magkasakit kay diha gikan sa inyoha ang positive nga patient (You already know that there is a positive case in your residence. So we are requesting you to stop going outside. Because it is possible that after 14 days, you will get infected with the disease since you knew the positive patient,” the mayor said.

At the same time, Mayor Sara reminded those who are experiencing symptoms of the coronavirus but refusing medical consultation to follow proper self-quarantine guidelines or if not, contact the local government for admission in one of the COVID-19 Centers.

“Kung ingon ana inyohang direction make sure nga dili ninyo matakdan ang inyohang kauban sa balay. Kung dili ninyo na mabuhat nga mag isolate nga kamo lang, duol namo sa gobyerno, sa SPMC para mabutang mo sa center (If that is your direction make sure that your family members will not be infected. If you cannot isolate properly, please seek help from the government or the SPMC so we can put you in the centers),” Mayor Sara said.

There are currently seven centers for persons experiencing symptoms of the coronavirus have been set up to decongest Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC), the main hospital catering to COVID-19 in Davao City. CIO
