Bacolod City – Fifty-one (51) Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries recently received Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs) and were installed as new landowners in Barangay Abo-abo, Murcia, Negros Occidental.

Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary John R. Castriciones administered the CLOA Distribution and ARB Installation activity.

β€œAt long last, you are now the owners of the land you have been tilling for years. We hope that all our efforts to help you achieve this milestone will not be put in vain. May we remind you to be responsible of the land awarded to you,” Sec. Castriciones said.

Also present in the activity was DAR-6 Regional Director Atty. Sheila B. Enciso who reminded the ARBs in avoiding illegal activities such as entering the β€œAriendo System.”

β€œHere in Western Visayas, DAR has been pro-active in order to give you the best service. May you help us help you in sustaining what we have accomplished. May this big event inspire you to give importance to the land awarded to you through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP),” Atty. Enciso said.

The 48.5136-hectare landholdings were formerly owned by Rio Baldomero Jr., et. al, with Title Nos. T-34572, T-276410, and T-34574, covered by Lot 153-B, Lot 153-A, and Lot 153-D. These are all situated at Barangay Abo-abo, Murcia.

The activity was anchored on DAR’s mandate in giving lands to landless farmers, defending their rights, and providing them with essential support services in order to ensure their agricultural productivity and economic sustainability.
