Zamboanga City – An Ex-Army soldier was nabbed by pursuing police operatives following a shooting incident at Barangay Tigbalabag, this city Thursday night, police reported.
The suspect was identified as Divinagracia Tee, 45 years old, resident of Sitio Guinuman, Barangay Tigbalabag.
Police Regional Office 9 Spokesman, P/Capt. Edwin Duco claimed, based on the incident report, the suspect was seen couple of times by the son of the victim in a lit portion near the house of the victim, Sarabin Aring y Nicanor, 59, married and resident of the same place.
Investigation disclosed that at 9:15 PM of same date, Julius, son of the victim invited his father to go home which the latter refused because he was still watching TV for Suertes. Along his way home, Julius saw Edwin who was standing beside the house of Guererro wearing a black jacket with hood where he tried to hide in an unlit area.
Julius got suspicious and went outside of their house carrying a flash light and lit the part where he last saw Divinagracia and stayed for a while at the house of Istoy. Julius then went back home to finish his meal and saw again the suspect standing beside the house of Guererro. Julius immediately went back to the house of Istoy where he heard two (2) succeeding gunshots fired.
He allegedly saw the suspect holding a gun and immediately fled towards an unknown direction. He ran towards the house of Istoy and saw his father lying on the ground bloody and lifeless.
Duco said, recovered from the crime scene were two (2) empty shells of Cal. 45 and motive of incident is allegedly personal grudge.
Police personnel of Zamboanga City Police Station 1 conducted a hot pursuit operation and were able to arrest the suspect. However, firearm used has not been recovered from the suspect. He is subjected for paraffin examination and is now under the custody of Zamboanga City Police Station 1 for proper disposition and filing of appropriate charges. (PRO9 Public Information Office)
