Pinangalanan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang ilang mga miyembro ng gabinete na tatakbo sa 2019 midterm elections.
Ayon kay Pangulong Duterte, kabilang dito sina Agrarian Reform Secretary John Castriciones, TESDA Director General Guiling Mamondiong, Presidential Political Adviser Francis Tolentino at Special Assistant to the President Bong Go.
Dagdag ng pangulo, tatakbo rin sa pagka-kongresista sa Taguig City si Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano na meron na aniyang kapalit bagama’t hindi siya otorisadong ianunsyo ito.
Sinabi pa ni Pangulong Duterte, malaki rin ang posibilidad sa tuluyang pagtakbo na ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque sa halalan bagamat wala pa itong pinal na desisyon.
Kasunod aniya ito ng nabanggit ni Roque na pagbibitiw sa pwesto matapos na tila malagay sa alanganin nang itanggi ang balitang pagpapa-ospital niya.
“Kasi sabi niya mag-resign siya because he didn’t know that I was in the hospital. So, he was not informed. Hindi naman kailangan sabihin ko lahat eh. There are things which are limited to the immediate members of the family. And of course, if there is something wrong then I would communicate with the cabinet members nothing of that sort happens so para masabi niya hindi ako pumunta hindi naman siya nagtanong. So, he felt that he was placed in a bad light parang he was lying.” Pahayag ni Duterte.
