Davao City – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) XI distributed ₱ 15,000.00 as livelihood cash assistance to each 100 beneficiaries, whose livelihoods or jobs were affected, or are assessed to be continuously affected by the imposition of general community quarantine (GCQ), through its social amelioration program (SAP) and Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P’s).
The said pay out was made in partnership with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) and the Federiso-Lagumbay Administration of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of New Corella.
It served the purposes under Republic Act No. 11469 otherwise known as the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act of 2020, by which the national government will render full assistance to the LGU in helping the most affected families.
DSWD prioritized those families who have their own business permits before GCQ was proclaimed last March 16, 2020.
This activity aims to help those affected low-income families in the informal sector for them to recover their livelihood and small business.
Each beneficiary thanked the government for the assistance and attention given to them.
The said provisions are part of the platform of governance of Federiso-Lagumbay Administration, which coined as “SERVICES”, where the last “S” stands for Sustainable Livelihood and Entrepreneurship. (Michael Manguhig, RPN DXKT Davao OIC)
