The provincial government of Surigao del Norte led by Governor Francisco T. Matugas received 8 doctors to be assigned to the municipalities.
De. Arlene T. Felizarta, Provincial Health Officer welcomed the new batch of 8 Doctors To The Barrios (DTTBs) assigned in the Province of Surigao del Norte. They will serve the doctorless municipalities of Burgos, Dapa, Gigaquit, Placer, Pilar, San Francisco, Socorro and San Juan District of Surigao City. They’re the first batch to have 3 years contract of service since previously it was only for 2 years with optional 1 year extension.
This is very timely as we implement the Universal Health Care in the province being one of the Integration Sites (IS) and strengthen the Service Delivery Network: A Cuban Polyclinic Model Adaptation in Siargao Island, De. Felizarta said.
“We are also welcoming them to the Phil. Medical Association (PMA) and the Surigao Norte Medical Society (SNMS). Marajaw na pag-abot sa Surigao and Siargao! Welcome to your new home away from home!”
