Due to the alarming rise of new Covid-19 cases in Naga City with a daily attack rate of 3 and a 2-week growth of 91% (both medium level), the Department of Health Regional Office in Bicol has classified Naga City in Camarines Sur as Covid-19 Moderate Risk Area.
Naga City is still placed under the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) status.
The big question everyone’s asking: Given the current status, will there be a NAGA CITY LOCKDOWN?
Based on the DOH assessment, the quick answer would be “NO”. Should there be change in the quarantine status, that would be from MGCQ to GCQ only and not ECQ. However, nothing has been finalized yet.
A virtual meeting has been set on 6 April 2021 between the Bicol Inter-Agency Task Force (BIATF) and Naga City Mayor Nelson Legacion along with the members of HERTF. Only during this time would we know if the Naga City MGCQ will remain or not.
