On June 13, 2025, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Office joined the 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘀𝘆𝗼 𝗚𝘂𝗴𝗺𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗕𝗿𝗴𝘆. 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮, 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗼, a service caravan under the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).
As part of the whole-of-nation approach to empower geographically isolated and disadvantaged communities, DICT provided the following key services to residents and participating agencies:
1. 𝙚𝙂𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 – Residents were guided in accessing the eGovPH Super App through user orientations.
2. 𝙁𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙒𝙞-𝙁𝙞 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙮 – Access to Free Wi-Fi for All was made temporarily available during the event providing residents and local officials with internet connectivity for communication, education, and access to digital services.
3. 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧-𝘼𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙮 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 – deployed temporary internet solutions to ensure other participating line agencies could offer efficient services such as National ID registration.
4. 𝘾𝙮𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 – conducted community-level discussions on online safety, educating residents on identifying phishing, scams, protecting personal data and safe browsing habits.
This outreach activity underscores DICT’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and fostering safe, connected, and digitally empowered communities even in the most remote areas of the country bannering under this years National ICT Month theme “Walang Iwanan sa Digital Bayanihan” – a Nation working together for a more digitally connected Philippines.(Angelica T.
