Dipolog: DepEd ZamPen Region holds Teachers Month Celebration in Zamboanga del Norte

The Kickoff of the National Teachers Day Celebration long month – campaign was hosted by Zamboanga del Norte DepEd Region IX at the Zamboanga del Norte Cultural and Sports Center, Dipolog City on September 30, 2024.

ZAMPEN National Teachers Month (NTM) has sustained it’s growth over the years with the assistance and support from the private stakeholders, academe, government, media, and other industries. The activity was attended by DepEd Regional Director, Superintendents, Supervisors, teachers from Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga City, Zamboanga City, Dipolog City and Pagadian City. Dr. Roy C. Tuballa, Schools Division Superintendent ZDN welcomed the attendees, private stakeholders and the provincial government of ZDN.

Dr. Tuballa stressed that the celebration aimed to honor those who are in the teaching profession and acknowledged the teachers who gave importance on the crucial role, loyal service, and dedicated commitment of teachers in developing globally minded citizens, nurturing families, strengthening communities and building the nation.

The Regional Director of DepEd Zamboanga Peninsula, Dr. Ruth L. Fuentes stated that there is a need to revitalize the image of and respect for teaching as a vocation, by increasing public awareness on the value of teachers in the country. Further, she conveyed that expression of gratitude for the positive influences of teachers on the learners must be uphold.

The Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Norte Governor Rosalina ” Nanay Nene” G. Jalosjos through the Spokesman Governor Atty Ivan Ang delivered a heartfelt message as an educator himself for (25) years stressed that selflessness is the love language of teachers and seeing the hard work and passion of teachers nationwide animated the celebration of the National Teacher’s Month. Atty. Ang continued that the ideas and values teachers contribute to the learners with the patience and understanding they impart, combined with the patience and understanding they extend to learners on a regular basis, are the qualities of gratitude and commitment to quality education.

The kick-off made memorable as the teachers received gifts through raffle draws of home appliances, 5 – 10 kilos of rice, gadgets and motor vehicle for the grand prize. The program of activity was followed through the Presentation of Certificate to Sponsors, Stakeholders and Proclamation of Winners of the Teachers Got Talent.

The NTM celebration from September 5 to October 5, 2024 marked 16 years of bringing Filipinos together to pay respect to educators na nationwide as the teachers role in honing and empowering the youth who are the future of the country.
