The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur headed by Forester Geoffrey S. Zayas thru its Monitoring and Enforcement Section conducted a two (2) day Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign on Strengthening of Created Anti-Illegal Logging Task Force (AILTF) at Barangay Lison Valley in Pagadian City and Barangay Sigapod in the Municipality of Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur on October 13 & 14, 2022.
This activity was conducted to raise awareness for the barangay officials and their constituents on Anti-Illegal logging campaign and other ENR related laws, rules and regulations. Â An open forum followed after every lecture – discussion on the issues and concerns encountered by some Barangay Officials and their constituents.
The Officials of the said barangays pledged their commitment of support to the DENR and would closely coordinate with the assigned Forest Rangers and Forest Protection officers within their AOR for any untoward incidents that might occur.
CENRO Zayas in his message encourages everyone to help their community by relaying the information on ENR laws to their neighbors and to the people they know and report any illegal activities to the office.
