Davao del Norte – Patrolman Noel Rentuza Amor, member of the Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay assigned in Talaingod, Davao del Norte was sniped by more or less two (2) Communist Terrorist Group.
The R-PSB teams in Brgy. Dagohoy, Talaingod initiated a program where they conduct tutorials to IPs pupils to help with their assignments and to help them cope with their modular lessons.
Prior to the incident, Pat Amor together with PSSg. Diaz were on their way to get the modules of the Ata Manobo pupils at Sitio Km. 31, Brgy. Dagohoy, Talaingod, Davao del Norte when a total of three (3) gun fires were fired upon by suspected CTGs towards the direction of Pat Amor hitting his right palm.
Pat Amor is now recuperating in a hospital in Davao del Norte. PBGEN. Filmore B. Escobal, Regional Director, PRO 11 also pledged to give financial support.
Gov. Edwin Jubahib gave his reaction on the said sniping incident, to quote: “About sa sniping sa atong R-PSB; naa lang sa 3 ka NPA ang nagbuhat ato siguro gusto lang nila ipabati na naa pa ilang presensya sa Davao del Norte.
Pero dili kani nagkahulugan na ana pa ilang dakong pwersa kun dili ato ng masabot na gamay nalang kaau sila sa Davao del Norte ug kani pawala na so busa dili nato ikabalaka ang maong panghitabo ug gani karon ang atong kasundaluhan nagpadala ug pwersa para na atong maapsan ang grupong nag-snipe sa atong R-PSB member.
Ug sa atong R-PSB, pasabot lang epektiibo ang atong gihimo diha sa community arong maundang ang Communist presence sa atong barangay, kay naghimo silag action. Pasabot lang na ang gihimo sa R-PSB is nakaapekto jud sa ilang kalihukan.”
Meanwhile, Datu Takugi Anlay, Chairman of Km 31 extended his thanks to the PNP and AFP members assigned in their place, who are working hard despite the presence of NPAs in the area.
He even committed his full support to the programs of the government, to quote:
“Bisan unsaon ko, bisan patayon pa ako sa NPA, dawaton ko ang tabang sa gobyerno kay ang pangandoy ko makabaton kami sa tabang sa gobyerno na ania na karon ang kalambuan. Mao nalipay ako diri sa 31 kay naa na kalsada sa tabang sa kapulisan sa tribal.”
While Talaingod Mayor, Johnie T. Libayao also expressed his support to R-PSB saying:
“Mao na ilang gihimo mang-snipe snipe nalang na sila kay wala naman, gamay nalang kaayo sila. Mao na ang atong mga katawhan, dili kita magbalaka ana, kay andam ang gobyerno. Ang atong mga Army ug Pulis andam musoporta para mawala ng mga NPA karon sa Talaingod.
Sa mga R-PSB, kabalo man jud ta na nakatabang sila sa lungsod sa Talaingod, di lang kita ma discourage, kami sa Talaingod 100% na mu suporta kaninyo labi na atong Gobernador.”
On the other hand, the incident also angered the community in Brgy. Dagohoy, they heavily criticized CTG’s intimidation and obstruction of PNP’s help to the community through the R-PSB.
With that, Police Regional Office 11 strongly condemns the treacherous act of the members of the Communist Terrorist Group targeting PRO 11’s Revitalized Pulis Sa Barangay personnel.
“The incident only shows the NPA’s hypocrisy and violent character, they are selfish and terrible human beings. R-PSB has since brought development to former CTG influenced barangays and are affected with it, they don’t want the community to have peace and development, hence their goal is to harass our men” PBGEN. Escobal said.
