Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City – The aggressive efforts of Police Regional Office 13 against illegal drugs resulted in the successful arrest of two newly identified drugs suspects and confiscation of a total of ₱ 55K worth of drugs during a separate operation conducted by Butuan City Police Office and Cabadbaran City Police Station, today, March 22.
Police Brigadier General ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR, PRO13 Director, stated that Drug Enforcement Unit operatives of BCPS1 and BCPS3 together with City Intelligence Branch of BCPO and PDEA RO13 conducted anti-illegal drugs operation thru search warrant for Violation of Sec. 11, Art. II of RA 9165, issued at RTC Branch 1, Hall of Justice, Brgy. Libertad, Butuan City dated March 17, 2021.
Said operation was conducted in Purok Sari-sari, Brgy. Golden Ribbon, Butuan City around 7:55 AM yesterday that resulted to the arrest of Jose Julian L. Rodriguez, a.k.a Julian Jose, 41 years old, project supervisor. Authorities found eight sachets of shabu with estimated weight of five grams with Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of ₱ 52, 000.00 and other drug paraphernalia.
Another drug operation was also conducted in Cabadbaran City by Drugs operatives of Cabadbaran CPS and PDEA RO13, thru search warrant issued at MTCC, Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte. Said operation resulted to the arrest of Jherome M. Durain, 32 years old, decorative molder, resident of Brgy. 4, Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte.
Durain was tagged as a high value individual and listed in regional priority target list in illegal drugs. Confiscated during the operation were three rolls of cigarette foil containing Marijuana, weighing three grams with estimated value of ₱ 3,000.00.
The suspects are now detained at the custodial facility of the arresting unit, as cases for violating provisions of the Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Acts of 2002 are being prepared against them.
“We recognize the effort of our policemen particularly for the successful buy-bust operation which resulted in the arrest of the drug personalities, and confiscation of illegal substance,” RD CARAMAT JR. concluded.
