BJMP Conducts Tree Planting And Blood Letting On It’s 30th Anniversary

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Zamboanga City Jail (ZCJ) have conducted a blood letting activity and tree planting in line with its 30th Anniversary, Friday and Saturday respectively.

SJO1 Rey Laurence Comprendio, ZCJ Information Officer said, for the blood letting Friday, they collected 15 bags of blood coming from BJMP personnels, Barangay Officials and teachers at Zamboanga Central School SPED Center covered court.

This was done in partnership with the Barangay, BJMP, Zamboanga City Medical Center Blood Bank and Zamboanga central School SPED Center.

Saturday, they conducted tree planting where 25 fruit bearing trees were planted at Barangay Talisayan, the location of the new Jail facility.

Trees planted were jackfruit, macopa, cocoa and avocado.

Comprendio said this will be good so that when the jail will transfer, they can benefit the fruit trees.

He said, that the 30th Anniversary of the Bureau is on July 2, with the theme, “Tatlong dekada ng mahusay na serbisyo publiko matibay na sandigan sa tunay na pagbabago”

Aside from these, indoor games and quiz bowl were also played by the Persons deprived of Liberty such as chess in line with the celebration.

On July 16, 2021 the region will also have it’s celebration honoring especially those jail personnels who served in times of pandemic.

Participants were limited during the Anniversary due to the pandemic Covid-19.
