Barangay Kimamon Leads Cleanup, Decontamination Drive Vs COVID-19

Barangay officials and community leaders here led the cleanup and decontamination drive Sunday, July 26 as preventive measures against the spread of the deadly novel coronavirus.

Deofel Rollan, village chief of Kimamon, said the barangay decontamination team took turns in disinfecting the public areas within the premises of the barangay.

Rollan said that apart from barangay facilities, the team also disinfect the barangay’s major roads, and other public areas which are frequented by the general public.

The village chief thanked the Kimamon residents for their cooperation and the participation of the residents in the cleanup and decontamination drive.

Sunday’s “No Travel and Decontamination Day” is the Santo Tomas LGU’s effort to stop the local transmission of the COVID-19 virus.

Mayor Ernesto Evangelista, in his executive order, enjoined all barangay captains to take the lead in the cleanup and decontamination drive against the novel coronavirus.

The clean-up and disinfection drive is an effort to promote sanitation in public places while engaging communities to be active and vigilant to prevent the spread of the virus, according to Evangelista. Rhona Mae Royo, Cub Reporter
