La Trinidad, Benguet – A lone gunmen shot to death a barangay chairman in Lubong proper, Bangued, Abra, Monday morning, July 19.
Police Regional Office-Cordillera information officer Capt. Marnie Abellanida said the around 6:20 AM victim Robert Villastiqui was shot dead by a lone gunman while driving his motorcycle.
Bangued Municipal Police Station report showed that Villastiqui was driving his motorcycle to buy cigarettes when the gunman attacked and killed him
The barangay chairman suffered multiple bullet wounds, killing him instantly.
Investigators said the lone gunman, who was wearing a red long-sleeved shirt, black short pants, and bull cap, fled on foot towards Casili East, Bangued after the shooting.
Police is now investigating the fatal shooting of the barangay chairman.
