Bacolod City – The Sangguniang Panlungsod is requesting Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez to implement City Ordinance No. 1016, series of 2022 or “An ordinance Establishing the Barangay Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) Help Desk in every Barangay.”
The resolution authored by Councilor Cindy Rojas said the main purpose of C.O. 1016 is to provide grassroots level avenues wherein Bacolodnon OFWs and their families will be provided assistance with regards to the problems that they are facing in relation to their employment.
As of the drafting of this resolution, the office of Rojas has been receiving concerns from the officers of local OFW associations/federations that most of the barangays in the City of Bacolod have not yet organized the OFW Help Desk as mandated by the above mentioned ordinance.
