Bacolod: Negros Occ. logs 124 dengue cases, 1 death

Bacolod City – Negros Occidental remains consistently on top the list of the Department of Health in terms of having the most number of dengue cases since 2022, as it logged 124 cases and one death, before the end of January.

Iloilo followed Negros Occidental with 90 cases, Antique – 49, Capiz – 43, Iloilo City – 28, Guimaras – 9, Aklan – 7, and 5 in Bacolod City.

Three other dengue related deaths were also reported in highly urbanized Bacolod City, Iloilo City and Capiz, according to report of the Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health and Development.

All over Western Visayas, DOH WV CHD recorded 453 cases from January 1 to 28 this year, an increase of 175 percent, compared to 165 cases in the same period of 2022.

The DOH WV CHD report further showed that Aklan recorded the highest increase in dengue cases, from three cases in January 2022, to 70 in the first month of the year.
