Be informed that about 6:30 PM of December 5, 2020 a concerned citizen went to Sergio Osmeña Municipal Police Station (MPS) and reported that there was an alleged stabbing incident transpired at Purok Narra, Poblacion Alto, Sergio Osmeña, Zamboanga del Norte.
Acted on the said report immediately PNP personnel of said station proceeded to the place of incident to verify the veracity of the said report.
Initial investigation conducted by the investigator disclosed that at around 6:20 PM of same date the victim identified as one Nimrod Lumbay Dagpin 45 years old, male, married and a resident of Deventa Perla, Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte was stabbed three (3) times hitting the different part of his body particularly on his right arm and lower back portion of his body by using a knife by the alleged suspect identified as Ernesto Buhisan Ayawon, 48 years old, male, married and a resident of Purok Narra, Poblacion Alto, Sergio Osmeña, Zamboanga del Norte that resulted to the untimely death of the said victim.
Further, the said victim was pronounced dead by the attending physician Dr. Mike Gianan of Sergio Osmena Rural Health Unit who personally conducted post mortem examination at the crime scene.
Furthermore, prior to the incident happened, the victim (Nimrod) riding his motorcycle coming from the house of one Juvanie Camporedondo located at the aforesaid place of incident and upon reaching at the shoulder of the road. The victim lose control on his driven motorcycle and fell down on the road. Then Ernesto (suspect) came and approached him while offering to assist him in lifting his motorcycle but unfortunately, the victim (Nimrod) got angry to the suspect (Ernesto). Then the suspect pull out the knife of the victim, which was tucked at his waistline then directly, stabbed him three (3) times.
After the incident, the suspect was fled away towards the direction of municipal cemetery of said municipality. During the conduct of hot pursuit operation by the responding PNP personnel of Sergio Osmeña MPS, the suspect was successfully arrested and was properly informed his constitutional rights fully understood by him after that the suspect was brought to Sergio Osmeña Rural Health Unit for medical examination purposes.
The arrested suspect is now under the police custody of Sergio Osmeña MPS for proper disposition.
