Army Seized Rifles From Runaway NPA Terrorists


Davao City –   Members of the CPP-NPA Terrorist under Guerilla Front 73 who were responsible for the burning of heavy equipment owned by Gemma Constructions at sitio Lamfinik, Barangay Tasiman, Lake Sebu, South Cotabato last Nov 09 were pursued by troops of 27th Infantry “ACTION” Battalion in the afternoon of November 17, 2018.

“Entirely fed up from the seemingly endless streak of extortions, recreuitment and forced contributions, local residents of barangay Klobe of said Municipality have managed to tip-0ff the Action Troopers regarding presence of the CNT’s in the area.

The Unit managed to track down 20 fully armed men harboring in the said community. Upon carefully assessment of the area, the troops successfully engaged the CNT’s while simultaneously securing and protecting the civilians, including women and children from the gun fires.

The ensued firefight lasted 40 minutes which yielded to recovery of four (4) M16 Rifles, One (1) M14 Rifle and two (2) steel backpacks from CNT’s who scrampered to different directions amidst the confusion brought by the surprised attack” Lieutenant Colonel Jones Otida, 27th IB Commander said.

On the other hand, Brigadier General Roberto Ancan, 1002nd Brigade Commander said, “This is a success which resulted from both the untiring efforts of our men and the strong commitment of the localities. Let us continue to protect the community from these atrocious peace spoilers and exert all possible efforts in bringing justice to those they have subjugated”.

Meanwhile, Major General Noel S. Clement, Commander 10th Infantry Division lauded troop’s accomplishment and said “It’s better for them (NPAs) to surrender and avail of Government’s enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program”.

“10th ID is grateful for the residents of Lake Sebu for their support to our Troops in terms of information. With people and soldiers working together, our journey towards peace, unity and development can be achieved in a no longer time”, MGen Clement said.
