Team Climaco officially filed their Certificate of Candidacy (COC) before the Commission on Election (Comelec) Thursday morning at a local mall located in this city.
First to file were the council aspirants followed by the aspirant for Vice Mayor, Mayor, then the two aspirants for Congress.
Those who filed were for Congress District 1 Maria Isabelle Climaco Salazar, for Congress District 2 Atty. Juan Climaco Elago II.
For Vice Mayor is Josephine Pareja and Mayor is Cesar Jimenez Jr.
For councilors District 1 Los Eli Angeles, AL Alhabshi, Ben Asdali Atty. Gian Enriquez, Selina Espiritusanto, Joel Esteban, King Omaga, Marjorie Jorillo Sta. Teresa. For District 2 Philip Abuy, Tiffany Joy Cabanlit, Sonyboy Jalani, Jung Jung Macrohon, Percy Miravite, Elong Natividad, Eddie Saavedra, and James Siason.
Jimenez filed under the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) while others filed under Partido Prosperidad y Amor para na Zamboanga or (PAZ).
“Kompleto kame not only in quantity but in quality. Continua kame el ayuda, serbisyo, con prosperidad y amor para na Zamboanga.” Jimenez said.
Atty. Jan Christian Babiera received the application for top positions such as Mayor, Vice Mayor, and district 2 congress while Atty. Stephen Roy Cañete received COCs of councilors for district 1
The commission checked the requirements of the aspirants then after collecting all the Comelec Regional director will bring the papers to Comelec Manila.
Coronavirus Disease 2019 protocol were followed during the filing those in the area must wear either surgical mask, N95, or KN95 mask, face shield must also be worn, and only two person’s will be allowed to accompany those who will file the COC.
The current number of registered voters for Zamboanga City for district 1, the city has 193,912 registered voters covering 37 barangays while 209,552 for district 2 covering 61 barangays. (Photos courtesy by R.G. Antonet Go)
