95 Bacolod water refilling stations for closure

Bacolod City – The head of the Environmental Sanitation Department of the City Health Office has recommended to the Business Permits and Licensing Office the closure of 95 out of 204 water refilling stations operating in Bacolod City without the necessary permits.

Dr. Grace Tan, in her report submitted during a public hearing presided by Councilor Em Ang Tuesday, recommended the closure of the 95 water refilling stations until they have complied the regulatory requirements and also indicated that there are already 19 cases of cholera in Bacolod with Brgy. Singcang having the highest number at seven.

Tan’s report also stated that they have confirmed the presence of cholera bacteria through stool culture from Brgys. Mansilingan, Tangub and Sum-ag. (Chrysee Semillano via tvds photo by pna)
