25 Vendors Test Positive For COVID

Only 25 of the 1,665 vendors from the three major public markets in the city who participated in the Surveillance Testing o tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Mayor Evelio Leonardia said the result indicates a 1.5% positivity rate.

Leonardia said the success of the surveillance testing “is attributed to the cooperation and commitment of the market vendors in our effort to fight COVID-19.”

Minimum health protocols are in place to assure the public that our markets are safe, the mayor added.

In the meantime, Leonardia is set to meet with agencies concerned regarding the resumption of sea travels between Bacolod, and Iloilo City. The meeting was set by MARINA, and is scheduled tomorrow, October 15, 2020. (Dolly Yasa via The Daily Guardian (TDG), photo by TDG)
