2 Criminal Gang Members Neutralized At Sitio Agingayan, Brgy. Candelaria, Liloy, Zamboanga Del Norte

Police operatives of 2nd Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company, Salug Municipal Police Station (MPS) and Liloy Municipal Police Station (MPS) conducted a joint manhunt operation at Sitio Agingayan, Brgy. Candelaria, Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte 7:30 AM of November 19, 2020. The operation resulted in the neutralization of two suspects identified as Ansar Taupan Ahil @ Tunay, 47 years old, married, Top 2 High Value Target on Illegal Drugs (Provincial Level) and Bensar Taupan Ahil @ Caloy, married, 40 years old, listed as No. 4 Most Wanted Person (Municipal Level of Salug MPS), both members of Muloc Group Criminal Gang and residents of Brgy Candelaria, Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.

Both subject persons had Warrants of Arrest for Attempted Murder and Frustrated Murder docketed under Criminal Case Nos. L-003044 and L-003034, respectively, all issued by Presiding Judge Oscar D. Tomarong, Branch 28, RTC, Liloy.

During the said operation, a firefight ensued for about 30 minutes between the accused and the operating team resulting in the neutralization of two accused who are Criminal Gang members and the wounding of PNP personnel assigned at 2nd Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company who sustained two gunshot wounds in his left leg and now confined at Liloy District Hospital, Brgy. Baybay, Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte in normal condition.

The two Criminal Gang members were also brought to Liloy District Hospital but were declared dead on arrival.

Recovered from the crime scene were the following pieces of evidence: Ansar Taupan Ahil: One-unit KG-9 with serial No. 316772 with 1 magazine inserted loaded with 10 pcs. ammunition; One pc. wallet; One ammunition; Two pcs. fired cartridge case (FCC); and Two pcs. small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline granules believed to be Shabu Bensar Taupan Ahil: One-unit Colt M4 rifle without serial number with one long magazine loaded with 21 ammunition; One ammunition; Four pcs. fired cartridge case (FCC); One pc. Bullet Vest; One pc. magazine pouch inserted with 5 long magazine alloy loaded with several ammunitions and 1 pc. rifle grenade;  One pc. Black helmet; One-unit Cal. 45 pistol; and One pc. Cal. 45 magazine.

The cadavers were properly documented and turned-over by the SOCO team to their immediate family. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
