12 NPA Withdraw Support To The Communist Terrorist Group

Twelve communist terrorist group members under the Barangay Revolutionary Committee (Sangay ng Partido sa Lukalidad), Western Mindanao Regional Party Committee surrendered in Zamboanga del Sur on May 27, 2021.

“Based on the report from the Joint Task Force ZamPeLan, Angelito Arante, a.k.a. Litoy; Quireno Alalon, a.k.a. Kiking; Marivic Piamonte; Melchor Piamonte; Alex Arante; Jessie Arante; Nilo Abiar, Jr.; Nisio Liberanes; Junry Caminos; Nestor A. Caminos; Jemar Romeo; and Basilio Mier, submitted themselves to the military, police, and local government officials at Purok 1, Barangay Gutlang, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur at about 1:40 p.m., Thursday,” said Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., Commander, Western Mindanao Command.

“This manifests that we are not just gaining grounds but we are winning the peace in our joint area of operation. The remaining insurgents must know that the government is more than willing to welcome them back into mainstream society,” Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. added.

As a gesture of sincerity, said personalities signed an Oath of Allegiance in the presence of Molave Municipal Mayor Cyrel Reo Glepa and representatives from the security agencies and Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELCAC).

According to 102nd Infantry Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Leonel Nicolas, the twelve are organized masses under Barangay Revolutionary Committee of Western Mindanao Regional Party Committee, a shadow government organized by Guerilla Front Joji. Their group was recently organized by Dionecio Onjie Abiar of the Alliance of Farmers Union in Zamboanga del Sur under Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas.

Meanwhile, two members of the WMRPC surrendered to the government forces in Barangay Nangan-ngan, Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur on May 29, 2021.

A.k.a. Renz/Jade, CO of the defunct GF Feliciano and a.k.a. Romink/Arnold member of the defunct HQ Kalaw handed over one M203 Grenade Launcher with four live 40MM ammunition and one cal. 45 pistol with magazine and one live ammunition.

During the debriefing, the surrendered personalities said they yielded due to the hardship they experienced while evading the combat operations conducted by the security forces,” said Brig. Gen. Nicolas.

Maj. Gen. Generoso Ponio, Commander of the Joint Task Force ZamPeLan said these accomplishments are results of the concerted effort of the military, police, and intelligence units in coordination with the local government officials and the communities.

From January 2021 to date, a total of 82 CTG personalities were neutralized in Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao Provinces. Among the 82, four were killed, 70 surrendered, and eight were apprehended. (WesMinCom-Public Information Office)
