Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet – PROCOR cops destroyed ₱ 21.9 million worth of marijuana plants in the province of Benguet and Kalinga from April 6-10, 2021.
Operatives of Benguet Provincial Police Office under the leadership of Provincial Director, PCOL Reynaldo Pasiwen discovered marijuana plantation sites in the mountains of Bakun, Kibungan and Kayapa Benguet.
In Kibungan, operatives uprooted 4,700 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants worth ₱ 940,000.00 cultivated in a communal forest with an estimated land area of 700 square meters of Barangay Badeo.
In Bakun, 24,100 pieces fully grown marijuana plants worth ₱ 4,820,000.00 were uprooted in four marijuana plantation sites located in a communal forest of sitios Bulisay, Agay-ay, Lepsik, and Wading of Barangay Kayapa.
Meanwhile in Kalinga, anti-narcotics operative team from Kalinga Provincial Police Office with the supervision of Provincial Director, PCOL. Davy Vicinte Limmong, has discovered marijuana plantation in Tabuk City and in the municipality of Tinglayan.
In Tabuk, operatives located three marijuana plantation sites in Barangay Lacnog planted with10, 800 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱ 2,160,000.00
In Tinglayan, scouring the mountains of Chumanchil, 3,100 fully grown marijuana plants were uprooted in a 4,700 square meters land area with an SDP of ₱ 6,200,000.00.
The operatives also recovered a total of 66-kgs-dried marijuana leaves and marijuana seeds with an SDP of ₱ 7,825,000.00.
The discovery and destruction of the ₱ 21,945,000.00 worth of marijuana plants, dried leaves, and seeds in Benguet and Kalinga is a result of the continuous effort in marijuana eradication in the region in pursuit of a drug-free Cordillera.
