Zamboanga City -The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) have conducted a media tour at the water district’s diversion dam located inside barangay Pasonanca’s protected area.
Arnold Atilano, ZCWD’s chairman of the board said, last month, he went to the watershed to check and prepare for the project adopt a forest and saw the normal flow of running water.
Because of this, he had the idea of bringing the media while the diversion dam is at normal level for the media to see.
The impression is, media only goes to the area during El Niño or dry spell and do the Oratio Emperata when the dam is not on its normal level.
Several media from the print and broadcast participated during the said activity.
The group were briefed by the ZCWD about the area and the do’s and don’ts. They were also brought to see the area and the diversion dam.
These media men trekked the area, crossed rivers and saw several plants and animals.
Misconception was also explained that the ZCWD has a diversion dam and not an impounding dam.
