The Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) now opens its swabbing booth for those walk-in clients who wanted to be tested for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) Monday inside the hospital premises.
Dr. Shadrina Tahil – Sarapuddin, ZCMC Spokesperson said, this swabbing booth will cater for those who were exposed to possible Covid patients and those who needed the testing for travel purposes.
The test cost P2,500.00 and the result will come out after one to two days. For those interested, they can go to the Admitting Section to avail of the Philhealth package or discounts and to fill-up the Case Investigation Form prior to swabbing.
ZCMC has a total of 34 booths at present, only one booth is open. It is manned by a swabber and one encoder. Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) is the gold standard for Covid-19 testing.
During the test, a nasopharyngeal swab will be done with the use of long cotton buds inserted in the nose and mouth. (R.G. Antonet A. Go)
