Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) has inaugurated its new surgery ward located inside the hospital premises Friday morning.
Dr. Afdal Kunting ZCMC Chief of Hospital said the new surgery ward cost P25 million and can accomodate 36 general surgery patients, six Surgical Intensive Care Unit patients, and four for burn patients.
He said, they are expecting that this new ward will be filled with patients as ZCMC is catering to indigent patients.
Meanwhile, Dr. Joji C. Macrohon – Sese, Chairperson, ZCMC Department of Surgery said, this is the thrust of ZCMC to give good service to the patients.
She added, they receive 50 patients a day for the surgery department.
Due to Coronavirus Disease 2019, no visitors allowed and they are asking if it’s possible only one watcher who will stay with the patient during the duration of the hospital stay.
