Zamboanga City rolls out Pediatric A3 COVID-19 vaccination with 6 hospital-based children with comorbidities at the Zamboanga City Medical Center yesterday, October 29.
Pfizer vaccines were used during the rollout, as only Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are authorized for use of children 12 to 17 years old. The youngest vaccinated was 12 years old while the oldest was below 16. Doctors’ assessment is required prior to vaccination.
Present during the rollout were Mayor Beng Climaco, ZCMC Chief Dr. Afdal Kunting, DOH Assistant Regional Director Dr. Manolo Alpichi, Regional Medical Coordinator for the national immunization program Dr. Gem Punzalan, City Health Officer Dr. Dulce Miravite, CHO Immunization Coordinator Cora Pagotaisidro and ZCMC medical officers.
Rollout in non-hospital covax sites will be November 8.
