Zamboanga: Public reminded to do 4 o’clock habit versus dengue

Zamboanga City still under dengue outbreak mode as the number of cases continues to breach the alert and epidemic thresholds.

The public is advised to aggressively continue the 4 o’clock habit to prevent and control dengue cases. The 4-S campaign stands for

• Search and destroy mosquito-breeding sites
• Secure Self-protection measures like wearing long pants and long-sleeved shirts and daily use of mosquito repellant
• Seek early consultation
• Support fogging/spraying only in hotspot areas where increase in cases is registered for two consecutive weeks.

The CHO recorded a total of 1,135 cases with 14 deaths from Jan. 1 to April 16, 2022.
