The city government through the City Health Office in collaboration with the Department of Health Region IX continues its COVID-19 vaccination activities for all age brackets both for primary doses and booster shots.
However, inoculation rate for age group 5 to 11 remains low due to limited supply of vaccines distributed by the Department of Health Central Office to the different local government units.
Explaining during the last virtual press briefer, City Health Officer Dr. Dulce Miravite said that supplies received by the central office are distributed to the different areas in the country.
“That’s why poco lang tamen el diatun allocation but we are lobbying para puede kita saca more supply so that we will be able to vaccinate more children,” the local official expounded.
Due to the meager supply, most vaccination sites require pre-registration to ensure availability although some vaccination sites allow walk-ins but only a few can be accommodated.
“If it’s your turn or if you pre-registered, please get vaccinated on your scheduled time,” Dr. Miravite urged. (Claudine Uniana)
