The City Government led by Mayor John Dalipe will formally launch the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival 2023 today, September 21, at the Grand Astoria Hotel.
The launch will be spearheaded by Mayor Dalipe together with the local officials, the City Tourism Office, and guests and stakeholders from different sectors, and will unveil this year’s Festival celebration and its jam-packed calendar of activities under the theme “Celebracion de Colores”.
The launch event will also serve as city’s invitation to the nation and the world to visit and experience the city’s grandest and most anticipated festival.
This year’s Hermosa Festival is slated from October 1 -15, with a full line-up of activities celebrating culture, history, and faith in honor of Nuestra Señora la Virgen del Pilar, the city’s patron saint. The formal feast day celebration is held every October 12 and is a declared holiday in Zamboanga City.
The Hermosa Festival Opening Salvo will be held on October 1 together with the 75th Founding Anniversary of the Universidad de Zamboanga.

The city government, through the City Tourism Office, has begun ramping up preparations for the festival with a series of coordination meetings with partners, stakeholders, and the security sector.
