Mayor Beng Climaco Beng spearheads distribution of Early Childhood Care Development (ECCD) books to day care centers in the barangays in line with her commitment to education.
The City Government through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) purchased a total of 55,555 activity books that include ABC practice books on reading, writing, science and math.
The books will be distributed to the 350 day care centers located in CSWDO field offices 1 to 7.
The distribution held in Sta. Barbara Thursday covered the CSWDO field offices 1,2, 3 and 4. Day care centers under field offices 7, 6 and 5 received their books Wednesday.
Joining the mayor during the distribution were CSWDO personnel led by Uldarico Fabian.
The practice book in reading was prepared and revised particularly for preschool children in day care center. Each lesson or page contains directions/ instructions for the parents, workers and guardians on how to manage the lesson in focus.
Last January 2019, the City Government also distributed ECCD books to day care centers. A total of 26,666 activity books were purchased and they included ABC practice books on reading, language and mathematics.
The books are authored by Raffy Magtoto Gamad, a registered social worker, who also spearheaded the conduct of an orientation for Child Development Workers (CDW) on the use of the books last Nov. 26 and 27, 2018.
