Zamboanga City To Procure 32 E-Eskwela Techno Vans

The Department of Education (DepEd) Zamboanga City Schools Division has revealed the plan to purchase 32 E-Eskwela Techno Vans to be used for the learners especially this time of pandemic.

Roy Tuballa,  Schools’ division superintendent told RPN DXXX Zamboanga, the E-Eskwela Techno Vans will cost ₱ 230,000 per van which is fully furnished.

Items included in the van are complete filming facility, air-conditioning, and production facility.

The E-Eskwela Techno Vans will serve to house laptops for computer hands-on and an E- library. It will house also the filming equipments for the film studio, and also to contain as well the printing equipments. It will also be a multimedia classroom for the learners.

Tuballa said, this is also an investment after the pandemic, this will still be used especially by the students of the Alternative Learning System.

Funds to be used will be part of the ₱ 70 million Special Education Fund.

This was a collective decision of the Local School Board, the body which approves the budget and utilization of the Special Education Fund (SEF).

It is now undergoing procurement however, there are difficulties as there are no available suppliers.

DepEd Division of Zamboanga City is composed of Labuan district, Ayala, Sta. Maria, Baliwasan, Central, Vitali, Curuan, Manicahan, Mercedes, Putik, Talon Talon, and Tetuan. The city has 172 public elementary schools and 41 public high schools with some 8,000 teachers. (R.G. Antonet A. Go)
