The city government will impose  a temporary moratorium on the entry of Locally Stranded individuals (LSI) effective October 26, 2020 until further notice as Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in the city continue to increase.

Sheila Covarrubias, City Hall Information Officer told RPN DXXX, this is per resolution approved by the Regional Interagency Task Force (RIATF) on October 19, 2020.

For those Authorized Persons Outside Residences or APORs, as well as Returning Overseas Filipinos or ROFs they will be allowed entry, provided they comply with the requirements.

This will be done by the city due to the limited quarantine facilities and the closure of the borders by the neighboring provinces as well.

The city according to Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco Salazar is the transit and treatment area. This is one of the reasons why cases are increasing.

Zamboanga city now has 2,472 cases, 1,572 recovered, 797 active cases, and 103 deaths.
