Zamboanga City Now Has 401,694 Vaccinated For COVID-19

Zamboanga City now vaccinated 401,694 of its eligible population when it comes to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination program.

Dr. Dulce Amor D. Miravite, City Health Officer, said that for the first dose, 232,492 individuals were vaccinated while second dose 169,202 or 24 percent.

For the medical frontliners or A1 category, 33,709 were vaccinated. For the senior citizens or A2, 64,830 were vaccinated. For A3 persons with comorbidities, 118,184, For A4 or economic frontliners 129,120, for A5 or poor families 53,342 and 2,509 general population.

Fully vaccinated means that an individual already got the two doses of vaccines and 14 days after their second dose.

These individuals were vaccinated in the city’s vaccination sites. Vaccines used were Astrazeneca, Sinovac, Jansen, Sputnik V, Moderna, and Pfizer.

For the vaccines, Miravite said they received 204,584 vials of Sinovac, 13,238 Astrazeneca, 1,500 Sputnik V, 16,378 Pfizer, 2,800 Jansen, and 690 Moderna.

The City’s vaccination program will cover 700,000 individuals to achieve herd immunity. At least 70 percent of the population should have Covid-19 vaccinations in order to have herd immunity.

Vaccination is one of the strategy of the city government to curve Covid 19 cases.

Those 18 years old and above who wanted to be vaccinated may register at their health centers or at zambocovax.com

Currently the city has 19,846 Covid cases, 16,544 recovered, 2,423 active cases, and 879 deaths as of October 4, 2021.
