Zamboanga City Mayor Ask New PNP Chief To Increase MOOE, Legal Assistance To Cops

Zamboanga City Mayor, Maria Isabelle Climaco Salazar is asking the new chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to increase the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) of the police stations and provide legal assistance to cops.

“We ask General Sinas together with those generals in the directorate of the PNP to increase the MOOE’s of the police stations and provide legal assistance to those policemen in line of duty,” Salazar said during her press briefer Monday night.

The mayor explained, legal assistance is needed as these policemen conducts anti-illegal drug operations and operations which involves in securing their respective areas of responsibilities.

Recall, Police Major General Debold Sinas also served Police Regional Office 9 as the Deputy Regional Director for Operation in 2016.

Sinas took the place of Lt. Gen. Camilo Cascolan who reaches the mandatory age of 56 to head the 219,000-strong PNP.

Sinas, a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 1987, currently serves as director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO). (R.G. Antonet A. Go)
