Zamboanga City joins the global celebration of Earth Day 2023 with over 2,000 forest trees planted in sitio Muruk inside the Pasonanca Natural Park Saturday, April 22.
Mayor John Dalipe led local and national government agencies, civic organizations, private groups, academe and other institutions in the 2-hectare enrichment planting activity organized by the Office of the Environment and Natural Resources (OCENR) under Engr Rey Gonzales and his Assistant Gerry Pollisco.
Mayor Dalipe calls on all residents to do their share in helping protect the environment, as he vowed to pursue his goal of planting one (1) million trees during his term as chief executive.
Tree species planted include Narra, Palo Maria and Nato.
Earth Day 2023 is themed “Invest in Our Planet,” which everyone to unite in partnership for the planet and invest their time, money, and effort into protecting the Earth and ensuring its sustainability.
