The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) headed by PCol. Alexander Lorenzo in coordination with the City Administrator’s Office represented by Assistant City Administrator Cesar Raz convened today the representatives of the security sector and the different support groups and offices in preparation for the observance of the Holy Week from April 2-9, this year.

Top on the agenda were the deployment strategy for security personnel, security plan to be implemented in places of worships and convergence sites, where Catholic faithful are expected to flock for the Holy Week rituals, traffic management and control scheme, and the necessary logistical support, among others.

Aside from the more than 40 Catholic churches in the city, the primary security concerns of the police and Task Force Zamboanga are the thousands of devotees who expected to flock at the 14 Stations of the Cross at Climaco Freedom Park in Abong-Abong, Pasonanca and the Monte Santo in Barangay Lumayang.

Early on, Mayor John Dalipe has issued an executive order prescribing some restrictions, traffic scheme and other measures to ensure a peaceful and orderly observance of this year’s Lenten Season.
