Zambo Mayor Recommends No Caroling

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco Salazar is recommending that “caroling” will be prohibited in the City to prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019.

“Our recommendation is no caroling.” Salazar told press in her virtual press briefer at city hall Monday.

The mayor explained, once caroling is being done, facemask is being removed which is risky for the carolers that will be going from one house to the other.

Usually, caroling is being done yearly from December 16 to 23.

An Executive Order will be out soon to remind the public especially this Christmas and New Year.

This will be done with the help of the City Health Office, City Tourism Office, City Legal Office, and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Meanwhile, the mayor also reminded the public to strictly follow health protocols as the local government will strengthen its enforcement activities.

She also reminded that when infected by Covid 19, it is costly especially the medicines and if the patient has complications.

Aa of November 20, the city registered 3,226 Covid, 2772 recoveries, 289 active cases, and 134 death. (R.G. Antonet A. Go)
