Female city government workers submit themselves for Breast Cancer screening and consultation Friday, October 4, at the City Hall conference room in line with the celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2024 and Pink October 2024.
Organized by the Gender and Development Focal System (GAD) under the Office of the City Mayor and the Mindanao Breast Cancer Support and Empowerment Association -ZC chapter and other organizations, the breast cancer screening and consultation kicked off with an information drive to drum up awareness on the disease which has claimed many lives in recent years.
The activity embraces the theme #𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄: 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄 which stands for compassion, advocacy, recovery and empowerment.
The start of the Breast Cancer Awareness month and Pink October in Zamboanga City was also highlighted by the We Care to walk from the Fire Station in Ledesma Street to Plaza Pershing where the We Care Zumba campaign and program was conducted.
Together we are STRONGER when we CARE! Let us celebrate Pink October and continue to foster an atmosphere of care and support for everyone who struggled and those who continue to fight during this Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
