As a part of the Mindanao Development Authority’s (MINDA) ongoing series of multi-stakeholder conversations, Mayor John Dalipe attended the Mindanao Development Forum (MDF) jointly organized by MINDA in Davao City on May 18, 2023.
The MDF shifted the engagement of development partners to discuss the development priorities in Mindanao under the Marcos administration. The discussions also formulated strategies in strengthening partnerships for a more inclusive framework for peace and development, especially as Mindanao is recovering from the impacts of the pandemic.
Representing the City of Zamboanga, Mayor John Dalipe shared his insights in the subgroup for Food, Water, and Energy Nexus where the presenters were Sec. Raphael P.M. Lotilla of the Department of Energy (DoE) together with representatives from the Department of Agriculture (DA), and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). The facilitator for the session was Asec. Romeo M. Montenegro from MINDA.
As Chairperson of the Regional Development Council (RDC) IX, Mayor John shared the strategies that were undertaken in the Zamboanga Peninsula on the water, energy and food security nexus. Mayor John believes that through the united efforts of the government and private sector along with various stakeholders, dealing with the challenges and creating tangible strategies can work towards achieving the nation’s goals.
