On August 22, 2020 at about 10:10 AM, elements of Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) personnel of Surigao City Police Station under the supervision of the undersigned PLTCOL. CHRISTIAN L. RAFOLS II, COP together with PDEA Regional Office XIII, Surigao Del Norte led by IA I Kristine O Barrion and Surigao Del Norte Police Provincial Office Drug Enforcement Unit led by PCPT. ELMAR ROZ CLARET conducted buy-bust operation at the vicinity of Purok Waling-Waling, M. Ortiz Street, Brgy. Washington, Surigao City which resulted in the arrest of MELVIN LESLIE PATANAO TALINGTING aka Ling-Ling, Filipino, male, 30 years old, single, waiter and a resident of M. Ortiz Street, Brgy. Washington, Surigao City.
The aforesaid arrested person was informed of his Constitutional Rights under the Miranda Doctrine and the Anti-Torture Law upon his arrest. The aforesaid suspect was a newly identified drug personality of Surigao City Police Station.
Confiscated items from the possession and control of suspect were listed as follows;
Two (2) plastic sachets of suspected dried marijuana fruiting tops bought by the poseur-buyer from the suspect with an estimated weight of more or less 5 grams with Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of Six Hundred Pesos (₱ 600.00) @ (₱ 120.00) per gram and;
b. One (1) black cherry mobile smart phone; and
c. One (1) Genuine Five Hundred Peso bill (₱ 500.00) as marked money.
The body search were done in an orderly manner.
A case for violation of RA 9165 was being readied for filing in court against the mentioned suspect.
