Tribal Leaders Of Marilog District Declares Cpp-Npa-Ndf As Persona Non Grata

DAVAO CITY-  The Ovu-Manuvu Council of Elders and Tribal Leaders headed by Mahabbok Luis Lambac Sr and Brgy Council of Brgy Tamugan, Salaysay and Malamba all of Marilog District Davao City headed by Hon Giomedes Dela Cruz, Brgy Chairman; Line Government Agencies, Local Government Unit of Davao City and other stakeholders of Tamugan, MDDC declares CPP-NPA-NDF as Persona Non Grata during the conduct of a three-day Peace Building Seminar (PBS) which culminated by peace rally and grand pulong-pulong at Tamugan Gymnasium, Brgy Tamugan, Marilog District, Davao City.

The joint effort of LGUs, Former UGMOs resulted in a successful conduct of PBS in Brgy Tamugan with 400 estimated number of participants composed of 9-Sanga ng Partido sa Lokalidad (SPL), 21-Militia ng Bayan (MB) and 36-Tamugan Farmers Association (TAFA) Members, CTG supporter and sympathizers with a total of 466 participants joined the event.

The Peace Building Seminar gives awareness on the functions of the Local Government Units and other government agencies in relation to the current insurgency situation in the areas of 3rd District of the City. Government services and series of lectures from different agencies were brought upon the event to address the needs of the community and to inform the participants on the ways the agencies can help and assist them further.

The activity was highlighted by PEACE PACT ”Pakang” a tribal ritual of Obo Manobo for thanks giving and reconciliation. Reading of the resolutions for the declaration of CPP-NPA-NDF as Persona Non Grata among the following barangays: Malamba; Tamugan and Salaysay all of Marilog District, Davao City and Barangay Tawas and Lorega all of Kitaotao, Bukidnon; followed by burning of CPP-NPA-NDF flag and mass oath-taking of the 66 FRs/surrenderees to officially and publicly denounce their withdrawal of membership/support with the NPA terrorist group and declare their allegiance to the Government officiated by COL NOLASCO A MEMPIN INF (GSC) PA, Commander, 1003BDE, 10ID, PA.

LTC OSCAR P PARTUZA INF (GSC) PA Commanding Officer of 3rd Infantry Battalion in his message he was thankful to the former rebels and mass supporters/sympathizers/ underground mass organization members who willingly expressed their intention to cooperate in battling the local communist armed conflict to pave the way for the just and lasting peace and development in the area.

The activity was graced by no less than COL NOLASCO A MEMPIN INF (GSC) PA, Commander, 1003BDE, 10ID, PA as Guest of Honor and Speaker, wherein he discussed the relevance of the operationalization of Executive Order (EO) 70, otherwise known as the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict or NTF ELCAC, which immensely helped the government in its ongoing campaign. “The joint efforts of the AFP, PNP, local government units and the National and Local Government Agencies significantly facilitated the attainment and building of conflict-resilient communities and achievement of sustainable peace and development in our country,” COL MEMPIN said.
