Trento Police Nabs Security Guard Wanted For Possession Of Loose Firearm


Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – In line with the commitment of POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR, Regional Director of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13, to account all wanted persons in the region, personnel of Trento Municipal Police Station (MPS) arrested a security guard wanted for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 or The Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act yesterday, August 9.

Daniel S. Bebis, 38 years old, resident of Purok 20, Sitio Maica, Barangay Kapatungan Trento, Agusan del Sur was arrested during the manhunt operation conducted by personnel of Trento MPS by virtue of Warrant of Arrest issued by Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 55, Trento, Agusan del Sur dated July 26, 2021, under Criminal Case No. 21-609 with ₱ 120,000.00 bail bond recommended.

PBGEN CARAMAT, JR said that Bebis was the subject of Search Warrant Number 21-SW-104-TR dated June 16, 2021, issued by 1st Municipal Circuit Trial Court, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur implemented by personnel of Trento MPS together with 2nd Agusan del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company and the Provincial Intelligence Branch on June 20, 2021, wherein operating troops confiscated a caliber .45 pistol from his possession.

During preliminary investigation, the fiscal dismissed the case for insufficiency of evidence but our police complied with the needed document and pursued the case through regular filing that led to the issuance of a warrant by the court.

“With only roughly nine months before the 2022 National and Local Elections, PNP Caraga ensures that no loose firearm will be used for any crimes and election-related incidents that would put the lives of the people in great danger”, RD CARAMAT, JR said.
