PIA SIARGAO: The National Task Force Against COVID-19 issued travel restrictions which prompted the issuance of Memorandum Order No. 21- 056 by the Provincial Governor’s Office.
With this, the Socorro Expanded IATF on COVID-19 Management held a meeting and has recommended the postponement of the opening of Sohoton Cove and operations of other tourist destinations in town to minimize the possible spread of a more contagious variants of the SARS-CoV-2. Further, to monitor all the persons coming in and out in the municipality for security purposes, the following travel protocols and requirements are established.
Hence, the Municipal Mayor has issued Executive Order No. 2021- 018 otherwise known as “AN ORDER ADOPTING THE LIMITED NO TRAVEL POLICY ISSUED BY PROVINCIAL ORDERS AND ESTABLISHING TRAVEL PROTOCOLS AND REQUIREMENTS IN SOCORRO PORTS, AND THE POSTPONEMENT AND SUSPENSION OF THE OPENING OF SOHOTON COVE AND OPERATIONS OF OTHER TOURISTS DESTINATIONS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SOCORRO, SURIGAO DEL NORTE.” (LGU-Socorro)
