Department of Tourism Secretary Ma. Esperanza Christina Garcia Frasco led the unveiling of the miniature replica of Jaime Rusillon Surf Tower, the famous landmark also known as viewing tower at Cloud 9 now being reconstructed after it was destroyed by Super Typhoon Odette last December 16, 2021.
The local government unit of General Luna led by Mayor Sol Forcadilla-Matugas gave a tribute to the late Mayor Jaime P. Rusillon as the father of Philippine Surfing. Former Mayor Cecilia “Yayang” L. Rusillon with her daughter Vice Mayor Romina R. Sajulga received also a plaque witnessed by 1st District Congressman Francisco Jose “Bingo” Matugas II, former Governor Francisco “Lalo” Matugas and the members of Sangguniang Bayan of the Municipality of General Luna, Surigao del Norte.
