With the immediate action and investigation by the authorities of the San Francisco Municipal Police Station, three suspects were arrested and charged with alarm and scandal yesterday, May 26.

POLICE COLONEL LAUDEMER M. LAUDE, the Provincial Director, identified the suspects as a 30-year-old male, single, laborer, and a resident of Mangkilam, Tagum City; a 21-year-old male, single, laborer, and a resident of Claveria, Misamis Oriental; and a 56-year-old, male, married, foreman, and a resident of San Juan, Cagayan de Oro City.

Around 6:00 a.m. yesterday, the police authorities of San Francisco Municipal Police arrested the three people charged with alarm and scandal at Purok Mauswagon, Barangay Poblacion, San Francisco town. The duty desk police officer observed a malefactor running, followed by another malefactor holding a bladed weapon passing through in front of the San Francisco Municipal Police Station Building. Immediately, the police officers responded to a commotion that caused alarm and scandal among constituents.

Citing the report of San Francisco police, the three suspects attended a disco party held in Purok Centro, Barangay Poblacion, San Francisco. After being intoxicated with liquor, they went back to their bunkhouse nearby. The 21-year-old suspect followed the 30-year-old suspect and challenged a fistfight, which prompted the 30-year-old suspect to immediately stand up and punch him, hitting his face, and the 30-year-old to take a kitchen knife to the top of the table, then rush to the 21-year-old, who immediately evaded until they reached the San Francisco Municipal Police Station.

During the investigation by the responding police officers of the police station, both suspects were still challenging each other to have a fistfight and throwing annoyance words at the police officers, and the 56-year-old suspect uttered threatening words against the arresting police officers, challenging the law enforcers to arrest the suspect.

“As we strive towards a safer and more peaceful Surigao del Norte, SDN PNP reaffirms our commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety and security of every community in this province. We will immediately respond to the untoward incidents to make sure that the community is secure and peaceful,” PD Laude said.
