Surigao: PNP Caraga sends off 6,886 cops for election duties; troops from Philippine Army, Coast Guard, teachers join the ceremony


Camp Col Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – Police Regional Office (PRO) 13, joins the Philippine National Police’s Simultaneous Multi-Agency Send-Off Ceremony for the National and Local Elections 2022 last Wednesday, May 4, at PRO13 Grandstand.

POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M CARAMAT JR, PRO13 Director, ably represented by the Deputy Regional Director for Administration, POLICE COLONEL RODERICK D. MINONG, is joined by the Assistant Regional Election Director of Commission on Elections 13, ATTY. GERALDINE C. SAMSON; Commander of the 402nd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, BGEN ADONIS ARIEL A. ORIO; Commander of Coast Guard District North Eastern Mindanao, COAST GUARD COMMODORE EDUARDO P. DE LUNA, JR; and Regional Director of the Department of Education Caraga, DIRECTOR MA. GEMMA M LEDESMA.

Highlighted during the event is the blessing of 6,886 PNP personnel from Regional Headquarters, five Provincial Police Offices, Butuan City Police Office, Regional Mobile Force Battalion, and 1st Special Action Battalion to their respective deployment areas across the Caraga region to perform election-related duties in voting polls and precincts.

Troops from the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine Coast Guard and educators from the Department of Education also joined the ceremony.

“As guardians of our democratic aspirations, we will together face the challenges of ensuring the safety and security of voters and those involved throughout the process. With the support and cooperation of everyone, we will turn this national event into a big success,” DRDA MINONG said.

The Deputy Regional Director for Administration of PNP Caraga also reminded the troops to continually promote and protect human rights and uphold the rule of law.
